About Us

After discovering Procelain Art, in adult education, where she enrolled from 1976 to 1981, Kathe proceeded to further refine her art, at Cerritos College, where she studied from 1977 to 1986.  She would eventually obtain an AA degree in Fine Art, and another  AA degree in speech (1986-88). Kathe taught privately in her home, beginning in 1980, closing these classes in 1988 so she could travel the porcelain artists circuit throughout the United States teaching seminars, workshops, & schools as follows:

1990/92          Educational Art Institute in Pueblo, Colorado

1993               Art Supply Store classes in Arroyo Grande, Ca.

1994               Louisiana Porcelain Art School in Alexandria, La.

1995/96/97      Columbiere Porcelain Art School in Flint, Mi

1998/99           Casenovia Porcelain Art School in New York

Kathe's work has been featured in many art publications including the Porcelain Artist and the China Decorator magazines. Among her many awards for her porcelain creations were also her oils, watercolors, pastels, colored pencil, and ink renderings. Although she is an artist widely diversifide in subject matter, her main interest is in design, and area, where she has concentrated much of her art study and teaching. She is specifically identified with her background carving techniques and dramatic use of strong color values.

For most of her life, Kathe has lived in Southern and Central Coast Claifornia, but in 1995 she moved to Salem, Oregon where she has been employed as an Ink technician in a pressroom for a printing plant. Her job there is to mix and match colors specified by their customers and as such she has had an opportunity to develop color from a primary base. Now settled in Keizer, Oregon she maintains a small studio surrounded by her garden where she can freely express herself in any of her multi medias.
